EP164: My Ability is Stronger than my Disability, with Simon Townley How To Cut It in the Hairdressing Industry

    • Fashion & Beauty

Grit. Perseverance. Determination.

It's these characteristics that marks out high achievers from the rest. And one thing for absolute sure, todays guest Simon Townley has all of these characteristics in abundance. Listening in to todays episode, I'm confident it will make you take stock of what you have at your disposal– the ability to be great no matter what life can throw at you.

In lockdown I was blown away by the phenomenal success of a new Facebook group, Hair Socials. Offering a Live stream for hairdressers and barbers of all levels to educate thousands of its members, Hair Socials was the one of the names on everyones lips, including mine. I even had the pleasure to be interviewed by Simon – creator of 'Hair Socials'. Curious to know more on Simon, I learned what an incredible and inspiring human being he really is. You'll hear all of that today.

Born with a brittle bones disability called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Simon was in a wheelchair to the age of 15, but after a series of operations it helped him walk again. As he say's, "Just in time for my working life."

What I love about Simon more that anything else, is that has never wanted to have people feel sorry for him. Its all about his ability being stronger than his disability. That is evident in everything he does. A salon owner, former L'Oreal ID artist, Matrix Artist, part of the the Xfactor hair team with Adam Reed, and travelling to France 2016 and Russia 2018 to cut the England teams hair, it's fair to say no brittle bones will play an excuse for Simon not achieving his goals.

Now post lockdown Simon is currently starting new ventures that he can’t wait to share with you all today. So what are we waiting for, lets dive in!
