EP210: Helping Hairdressers Avoid Industry Burnout, with Hayley Jepson (aka The Resilient Hairdresser‪)‬ How To Cut It in the Hairdressing Industry

    • Fashion & Beauty

I love a niche, because if you try to cater to everyone you can get lost in the noise of many and your message won't speak to anyone. So, it's important you have a targeted niche market and speak to a customer or client in a certain way which they can really relate to. And that's what todays guest, Hayley Jepson, has done.

In my conversation with Hayley, we get to hear how she recognised that many hairdressers and salon owners were feeling stressed, burntout, anxious and overwhelmed by the daily pressures of salon life. Something Hayley had experienced as a hairdresser herself.

Finding it hard to manage the day to day pressures of busy salon life on top of depression, she went and got some therapy. "This was the best thing for me and I can honestly say it changed my life" says Hayley.

Hayley made the huge decision to quit hairdressing and inspired by the therapy began working as a psychotherapist full time. But what Hayley reveals in this episode was how hairdressing pulled her back in, and noticed the things that had previously worn her down about hairdressing no longer bothered her.  It was these skills gained through both having therapy and practising it that were serving her well. Something that inspired her to help other hairdressers and salon owners feeling overwhelmed. Step up, The Resilient Hairdresser!

With her down-to-earth ways of teaching that oozes warmth and humour, you'll hear that when it comes to avoiding industry burnout, Hayley really knows her stuff. Press play!
