James Gales - Flâneur Crossings: The EWF Podcast

Catch electronic musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist James Gales performing at EWF19 in Ways of Listening this Thursday 20 June, 7pm at State Library Victoria.

Presented in partnership with Melbourne Recital Centre, Ways of Listening is an experience not to be missed. Take in an evening of speech and sound that moves from synth-pop to classical, and incorporates poetry, projection, live music, discussion and prose as six artists trace the roots of their musical influences.

Featuring readings and performances by our three Melbourne Recital Centre Writers in Residence Kiara Lindsay, Caitlin McGregor and Xanthea O’Connor. Hosted by jazz singer, cabaret artiste and gender transcendent diva Mama Alto, accompanied by electronic musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist James Gales and violinist and writers’ mentor Adalya Nash Hussein.

This track, Flâneur was written by James Gales for HIDING SPOT, a fashion installation by Jessica Gregory at RMIT in 2016.
