Ep. 84 (re-air) - Advent - Restoration Adorned Podcast

    • Christianity

For Advent in 2019 we walked through the metanarrative of scripture; creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. We decided to re-air this series this year to go long with our new Biblical Theology Advent Cards! These cards were created to guide families through the story of scripture focusing on God the Son and His role from creation all the way to restoration.⁣

We don’t often think of the end times when we are celebrating Christmas, but the return of Jesus and the restoration of all creation is an important part of the work of Christ. On episode 84 of the Adorned Podcast we discuss how looking to what the Bible tells us is in store for the future helps us more deeply celebrate the birth of Christ. What a glorious day it will be when Jesus returns!

Quotes:

“As His first advent secured our redemption, so His second advent is the blessed hope of the church for the full consummation of His Kingdom” -RC Sproul

“Glorification is the final step in the application of redemption. It will happen when Christ returns and raises from the dead bodies of all believers for all time who have died, and reunites them with their souls, and changes the bodies of all believers who remain alive, thereby giving all believers at the same time perfect resurrection bodies like his own.” -Systematic Theology

“Believers will enter unto the full enjoyment of life in the presence of God forever.” -Systematic Theology

“Yes, Jesus was born as a little baby and He came to die on the cross, but that’s not where this story ends. The story ends with full restoration of everything."
