"Everything is Awful and Some Things are Worse"- On Food, Wealth and Writing with Ex-New York Times Frugal Traveler Matt Gross The Arts of Travel

    • Places & Travel

We had the pleasure of speaking to Former New York Times "Frugal Traveler" columnist Matt Gross. Matt came to Taiwan to promote his book "The Turk who Loved Apples" and we were able to strike up a friendship.

When he returned to New York, I called Matt for our Podcast. Matt and I discuss the contradictions of luxury travel in an age of gross inequality, how White privilege and class effects travel bloggers, and how we've both come to interact and learn from Asia. We have some strong opinions (and strong language!) at times so be prepared :)
