The Last Call Part 1 Snugcast

    • Society & Culture

The Last Call is a 2 part audio miniseries we have produced in conjunction with some pubs around Ireland. We speak to Tom Ryan of Phil Grimes Pub, Marie Mellett of Mellett's Emporium, Aoife Brennan of The Kilteel Inn, Ed Cahill from Tully's, Mike McMahon of Mothermacs and Fergal Chamber of The Four Provinces. In Part 1 of the series we find out about the background and setting of these pubs and try to get to know them a bit ebtter, before getting stuck into the impact COVID has had on them in part 2 as well as what the future looks like. The Last Call refers to the last time we have had a pint in these pubs, but not the final call. The resilience, determination to come back stronger and the love for the role each of the pubs play in the respective communities shines through these interviews. We hope you enjoy.#SupportNotSympathy was trending on Twitter yesterday, when we were due to publish this episode, but we held it back. We want to give pubs a small platform for their voices to be heard, but yesterday the pubs grabbed the bull by the horns and shouted from their rooftops. Fair play to you all. Hang in their, our lips are quivering for a pint in your company, sooner rather than later.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/snugcast/message Get bonus content on PatreonSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/snugcast.
