Hey monkiis,
It was an honor to sit down with my former college coach - Coach Michael Hill (@license_2_hill) - from Georgetown University. He is first and foremost a Wildman, but also a modern day strength and conditioning renaissance man. Not only that, but he has been named one of the TOP 4 collegiate strength coaches in the country. In other words, he's legit. Check out his bio below and please enjoy the conversation.
Michael Hill, a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, has been with the Georgetown University athletics department since 2004 and is currently the director of sports performance working specifically with men’s basketball while overseeing the development of all 29 sports. Most recently in 2018, Hill became a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certification board member. He is also a board member for Body Mechanix Fitness Cooperative in San Francisco, a consultant for SiSu Systems in Washington, D.C., a consultant for Go Pro Workout in Nashua, New Hampshire, an advisor for Monkii Bars in Boulder, Colorado, and an advisor for Perch Fitness in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In May 2017 Hill was recognized as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), which is the highest honor a strength coach can achieve. In 2014 the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) named Hill one of the top four collegiate strength and conditioning coaches in the country. He had previously worked in California as a Fitness Manager at 24 Fitness before moving to the Washington metropolitan area, where he has also worked with Episcopal High School in Virginia, Potomac High School in Virginia, and The Catholic University of America in the District.Hill’s certifications and memberships include the CSCCa-MSCC, NSCA-RSCC, National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), 24 Hour Fitness CPT, APEX, SAC Level 1, and CPR/AED from the American Red Cross. Hill has a Bachelor of Arts in health promotions and a minor in coaching from the University of Northern Iowa while also holding a master’s degree in sports industry management from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.
Thanks for tuning in and if you are enjoying the episodes we would be eternally grateful if you could leave a 5-star review. It helps to grow the monkii family and spread the good word of the Wild. Thank you.
See you out there and monkii on,
