11 - Graham Sherman The Explore84 Podcast

    • Self-Improvement

"The moment where everything in you says you stop, but you don't get to stop and you just have to push through." This week's guest is Tool Shed Brewing Co-Founder Graham Sherman, here to share some wisdom on how being an entrepreneur is like running a marathon.
True to the name, Tool Shed Brewing began in Graham's backyard tool shed, bottling the first batch in 2012, and by the winter of 2013 Graham and his business partner had beer on the shelves in local stores. They had realized they had cracked into a hobby that truly brings people together, and a secret of life: a way to make people around them happy. As Graham puts it: "You sleep like a baby when you've made everyone around you happy all day"
Graham and his business partner first met while building communication infrastructure for Canadian troops station in Afghanistan, often spending more than 6 months at a time away from home making it possible for Canadian soldiers to call home to their families. After deciding diving in to the home brewing hobby they decided to take a massive leap: leaving their jobs to jump off the metaphorical cliff and going after a dream, which has now turned into one of the most recongizable breweries in Calgary.
