#1.36 - The Science of Happiness - GGSC Happiness-Matters in Midlife - for Professional Women

This week, we dip into how the University of Berkeley's Greater Good Science Centre researches and defines Happiness. We explore how Happiness and the related constructs of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness, Wonder, Optimism, Affection and Self-Compassion fit into the Science of a Meaningful Life.
In a time of social distancing and self-isolation, coach Julia Seal focuses on 3 key happiness areas to help us through this time - as individuals and towards our societies and the greater good: Positive Emotion + Social Connection + Cooperation.
Firstly, we look at the essential role of Positive Emotion in our Happiness - from Joy, Gratitude and Mindfulness to Kindness, Self-Compassion and Tenderness - and how they open us up and change the boundaries of our minds and hearts. Then, we find out how taking advantage of the biochemical benefits of these positive emotions on our body and minds results in us being smarter on tests, more resilient in adversity, seeing "oneness" and even enhances cellular renewal in our bodies every day!
