66. The Bottom Line on Bariatric Surgery, with Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian Amanda Clark Leanne Ward Nutrition

    • Nutrition

I’m so  excited to bring you this episode today on bariatric surgery with advanced accredited practising dietitian, Amanda Clark.
Amanda has over 25 years experience in weight management and is a specialised bariatric dietitian. Amanda’s private practice is Great Ideas in Nutrition on the southern Gold Coast and she is the creator of Portion Perfection, a set of tools aimed at making eating the right amount of food for weight management easier, no matter what your needs.
We begin this podcast with Amanda’s tips and observations about the things people tend to do ‘wrong’ when it comes to sustainable weight loss. We then explain to our listeners what bariatric surgery is, how it works, who is might be appropriate for, some positives about weight loss surgery, some negatives about weight loss surgery and things people really need to consider before having a weight loss surgery procedure. We also talk about binge eating disorder, psychology input and post-op requirements.
Finally, we discuss what to do if someone has had bariatric surgery and their weight loss has stalled (or they’ve re-gained weight) and more about Amanda's Portion Perfection range which you can find on Instagram @portionperfection.
