BONUS - The 1776 Report: A Read-Aloud Shared History

    • History

Nat here to literally read you The 1776 Report (by The President’s Advisory 1776 Commission” in it’s entirety, without commentary. That’s 45 pages from an 18-member commission (notably not including any professional historians) formed by Tr*mp to present the case and approach for a more “patriotic education” a decisively “pro-American” curriculum.

We read it to you, without commentary, because even though inauguration day is tomorrow, the fact that this document was commissioned and published by the United States Government lends it credence and that is…well…asinine and horrifying?

“The 1776 Report” was released on January 18, 2021. The aim according to WhiteHouse.Gov is to “restore understanding of the greatness of the American founding.” The White House press briefing calls it a “definitive chronicle of the American founding” and “a dispositive rebuttal of reckless ‘re-education’ attempts that seek to reframe American history around the idea that the United States is not an exceptional country but an evil one.”

The full report can be found here.
