College Talk Ep. 24 - 5, 6, 7, 8! We Can Help and Validate‪!‬ College Talk

    • Kids & Family

Applying to college, for financial aid, and even coming face to face with the idea of leaving behind family can be incredibly daunting for students. This week I am joined by THREE amazing second year AdviseMI College Advisers, Juanita Gool, Jackie Deneau, and Brittany Hall, and we talk about what we've noticed students struggling with and how to help them. Parents, families, teachers, school staff, college professionals, and friends this one is for you. We talk about how to help students feel validated and how to process with them, while understanding that this journey is theirs and not yours.

Seniors. You are doing amazing, and whatever you're feeling: stress, excitement, fear, pride, or sadness... all of those feelings are OKAY! While this journey is yours, know that other people are having similar feelings and worries, and that it is natural . Don't be afraid to reach out and share with someone. Sometimes, sharing is the key that opens doors to understanding, help, and new opportunities.

We're on Apple Podcasts and Spotify now, so PLEASE subscribe, rate, and comment. Heck, please do that on here too! I want to know your thoughts and how I can be a better service for you. Just search for College Talk on either app.

Need more than just a listen to get started? I have created a resource folder for: students in college, seniors, juniors, and parents. Check it out here: https://tinyurl.com/podcastcollegetalk
