Breakdown of this episode - Marlee share's her wildest story which involves Prince Charles- Marlee discusses what it was like growing up as the only Indigenous person at her school and the racism she experienced at a young age- Stereotypes and expectations white Australian's have about Aboriginals- Marlee opens up about the first time she was asked 'why is your dad black' & what it was like growing up in a mixed-race family- Marlee talks about why she started @tiddas4tiddas - We all discuss the Black Lives Matter movement and how George Floyd's death has impacted Marlee and Australia- We all share our experiences from the peaceful protests that we attended- Marlee shares how difficult it can be for her as an Aboriginal voice during reconciliation week and the mental toll it can take on her and others in her community- Marlee talks about her Dad's experience as an Aboriginal man and Policeman- Marlee educates us on how we as a society have failed Indigenous Australians and the impact colonial ideologies & stereotypes have- We discuss casual racism, what that means and what that sounds like- Marlee lets us know what we can do next & how we can use our white privilege to be a better ally to our Indigenous community- We also give our thoughts on Invasion Day
