'अफसाना' ही कथा रेणू गावस्कर यांनी लिहिलेली आहे. ही गोष्ट आहे अफसाना नावाच्या मुलीची.. गरीब कुटुंबातल्या अफसानाचा एकुलता एक भाऊ व्यसनांच्या आहारी जातो आणि तिला आणि तिच्या बहिणींना रोज बेदम मारहाण करतो... पण जेव्हा त्याचा मोहरा त्यांच्या आई वडिलांकडे वळतो,तेव्हा मात्र अफसानाला तिच्या आत असलेली शक्ती सापडते... तिचे आई वडिल तर वाचतातच, पण तिच्या भावाला देखिल स्वत:ची चूक उमगते...अफसाना आपल्याला शिकवते की आपल्या आतली शक्ती जर आपण ओळखली, तर शारिरीक दुर्बलतेला काहिच अर्थ उरत नाही....
