A little over 100 years ago this week, the largest man-made explosion to have ever occurred at the time happened by accident in Halifax's harbour. With enough force to empty the harbour basin of water and to send its three-ton anchor nearly two miles away, the explosion decimated the city, leaving thousands dead and injured.
