Kelly Peaks Horner is recognized for challenging leaders to be their authentic selves committed to living their strengths each day and create a thriving, well being life. She demonstrates a natural aptitude for facilitating strategic planning with leaders unique to each district, school and campus. 
She completed ICF certified training in executive coaching and enjoys partnering with school leaders, in particular women leaders, in achieving professional and personal goals.
Kelly partners with leaders to provide training to create thriving cultures which support and enhance employee engagement and impact. Her mission is to partner with leaders to create the conditions for success.
Kelly’s professional expertise include delivering leadership development in areas of strengths development, well being, engagement, courageous cultures, and daring leadership skills by utilizing research-based initiatives and data driven initiatives.
In 2019, Kelly completed training facilitated by Dr. Brené Brown to become a certified Dare to Lead™ facilitator. Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals. 
The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, trainings, and coaching to help individuals, teams, and organizations move from armored leadership to daring leadership.
Kelly has over 30 years of teaching, leading, consulting and training experience in public education at various levels. She started her career as a teacher, teacher advocate, assistance principal, Human Resource specialist and recruiter. After leaving Fairfax County Public Schools, she worked for 16 years with the international research organization, Gallup, as a Senior Consultant. In 2016 she founded the Horner Education Consulting Group, LLC and currently is a freelance consultant. 
She lives with her husband in Williamsburg, Virginia.  She has three adult daughters.  For the past five years, Kelly has been volunteering with Community of Hope in Washington, DC where she mentors a 17-year old high school student.
