Grant's Rant: 7-1-21 Jazz pianist, culinary critic, Phoenix Suns‪.‬ IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT WITH GRANT NAPEAR

For many, it's quite the surprise to see a team that was worse than the Kings three years ago, now in the playoffs.  But it's happened and the Phoenix Suns have clinched a berth for the NBA Finals.  They've earned it.  But there's a sub plot to the story and that is a guy by the name of Al McCoy.  If you're a Suns fan, you surely know him.  If you're the son of a Suns fan, you surely know him and if you're the grandson of a Suns fan, yes, you know Al McCoy.  You see, Al has been the voice of the Suns since 1972.  Correct.  No typo.  1972.  He's 88 years young and has been calling the games for over 49 years.  That's an accomplishment far greater than even the Suns making it to the playoffs this year.  So, while I don't really have a horse in this race for 2021, I do have an expectation that, for no other reason, getting Al a championship would be a great and well deserved accomplishment.  And yes, he's a culinary expert, a jazz pianist and undoubtedly, wholeheartedly,  a Phoenix Sun.  He's still active and calling games.  Just 4 more W's  and Al has his last championship as the experienced sportscaster.  Way to go, Al!  Way to go.
