As Christians, our goal is to worship God according to His revealed will through Jesus Christ by the grace of the Holy Spirit. We therefore look to the Scriptures as the rule of our worship. A third thing we learn from our text is the identity of the one God often uses to take away His witness from us, from our churches and from our nations. A fourth thing our text shows us is that there are times when it looks as though the church and her witness have been defeated. We are taught, or reminded, that the Lord will always have the last word.
