Kangaroo Island, a wildlife haven just off the coast of South Australia, lost over half of it’s 50,000 population of Koalas, with many more endangered species now at risk.
Following the devastation, animal protection agency Humane Society International deployed a disaster response team to Kangaroo Island. Their Australian CEO Erica Martin, reflects on her time during the search and rescue mission.
