It has been an eventful few days for the Detroit Red Wings, but the two most important things are that Dylan Larkin is back, and Moritz Seider blew up Filip Forsberg in his 1st career fight.

Raymond Saves It, Kane Seals It ft. Max Bultman - Mar. 20th, 2024

Lucas Raymond is the hero the Detroit Red Wings needed.
Tune in as we begin by discussing the heart attack-inducing game in Hockeytown, as Lalonde's Red Wings started off terribly but rallied back led by Lucas Raymond's heroics & another Patrick Kane "Showtime" overtime winner (classically called by Ken Daniels & Mickey Redmond). After that, we discuss Lucas Raymond elevating his game in the absence of Dylan Larkin and while the likes of Kane and Alex DeBrincat regressed, as well as whether he can be a superstar (24:40).
We also give an update on the upcoming schedule & playoff race with the Islanders and Capitals (21:20), and cover Simon Edvinsson's first game back up from the Grand Rapids Griffins, how he fit in, & whether he should stay in Hockeytown (29:30). Next,  Dylan Larkin's injury status, and the Reimer vs. Lyon decisions (35:45).
We're then joined by Max Bultman of The Athletic Detroit to discuss the Detroit Red Wings & their playoff push/stumble, Steve Yzerman's moves and what's next for the roster, whether a goalie like Gibson or Markstrom needs to come in, & lots more (38:09).
Next, we weigh how Raymond's rise may affect the Seider AND Raymond contracts together as Yzerman navigates the cap, as well as updates on Carter Gylander and Trey Augustine (1:03:00).
Finally, NHL news including rule changes, stolen Jagr bobbleheads, Arizona's arena, & lots more (1:15:35) before we take your questions and comments during our Overtime segment (1:25:55) - enjoy!

It has only gotten worse for the Detroit Red Wings.

After that, an updated look at Hockeytown's playoff chances, upcoming schedule and implications with Larkin gone (16:35).

Then, overall thoughts on the season as a whole, whether frustration is an overreaction based on expectations for the season, & what's ahead for Steve Yzerman (Edvinsson, Johansson, Kasper, or Mazur in the future?) (32:00).
After that, a debate on the NHL expansion question, as Atlanta has jumped into the mix with Utah & other prospective locations: how many teams is too many (46:10)?

    Yzerman's Quiet Deadline and Detroit's Nosedive - Mar. 10th, 2024

The Trade Deadline was quiet for the Detroit Red Wings, but their last 3 games haven't been...and not for good reason.
Tune in as we open by discussing Steve Yzerman's one trade (Klim Kostin to San Jose) at the deadline, his thoughts on the Grand Rapids Griffins (like Berggren, who was called up, or Edvinsson, Kasper, Mazur, & others) and how they affected his decision to stand pat, on our analysis on whether he made the right decision & what's to come this offseason (4:10).
Next, Detroit's 3 losses to Colorado, Arizona, and Vegas: how Lalonde's squad did without Dylan Larkin, needing Kane, DeBrincat, Raymond, and Seider to take over, Lyon and Reimer struggling, Walman benched, Rasmussen hurt, and the impact of the losses on Detroit's playoff push (17:20). After that, a look on the standings and schedule ahead to see if Hockeytown still has a chance at a playoff appearance (37:00).
We then circle back and discuss the rest of the NHL Trade Deadline, including the Golden Knights acquiring Hanifin, Hertl, and others, San Jose's baffling trade, Carolina getting Guentzel, Toronto not doing much, & lots more (46:15) before we take your questions and comments during our Overtime segment (1:06:20) - enjoy!
