Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem is On The Air!  The first half our show this morning featured a guest; Sarah Blunt is with Integrated Community Services, and she uses the gardens at New Beginnings to engage with people with disabilities.  This also helps the gardens with volunteer labor, creating a natural symbiosis; job training, work experience and mentoring for trainees, and supporting productive gardens for the programs to use.

Following the guest, callers from around the Bay phoned in with gardening questions for Edie Tanem.  Musical interludes have been excerpted from the program to protect those who require it.

It's the Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem; our guests this morning are Douglas Airhart from Tennessee Technological University and April Ellis, Registered Horticultural Therapist in San Mateo.   Our subject?  Horticultural Therapy, which is a wide descriptor for plant related therapies ranging from physical through emotional and back again.  Our guests spent the entire hour with Edie.

Welcome to the podcast edition of Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem; todays' guest is Sherry Larsen, longtime producer of the San Francisco Bay Flower and Garden Show.  Back in the days when that show originated from the Cow Palace, KSFO would broadcast live for this program; nowadays the show is at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton; the 2024 show is April 4 through 7 and is already being set up, as Sherry described.
