Four former aides to President Obama—Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor—are joined by journalists, politicians, activists, and more for a no-b******t conversation about politics. They cut through the noise to break down the week’s news, and help people figure out what matters and how they can help. You can listen to new episodes twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
“Cleanup on Heil 12!”
Republican leaders struggle to respond to Trump’s Nazi Dinner, Congress passes a bill to protect same-sex marriage as Washington gears up for a busy lame duck session, the GOP conducts a midterm autopsy, and White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain stops by to talk about Joe Biden’s plans for 2023.
Donald Trump gets dinner with a Nazi, a new special counsel to investigate his crimes, and his Twitter account back. Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock talks to Lovett about his runoff election on Dec 6. And the guys play a round of Take Appreciator.
Jon and Dan answer all your midterm questions + a few about Taylor Swift, reality tv, and their favorite reads.
“He’s Running (from the law)”
Donald Trump makes it official. Republicans win the House. Nancy Pelosi steps down as leader. Kari Lake loses her race for Arizona governor. And Dan talks to the Nevada Independent’s Jon Ralston about midterm results and the future.
“2022 is dead. Long live 2024”
Democrats keep the Senate, hold off a Red Wave in the House, and prepare for a productive lame duck session. The knives are out for Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy while Donald Trump gets ready to announce his 3rd presidential campaign. John Fetterman’s campaign advisers Rebecca Katz and Kipp Hebert stop by to tell us about their big win over Dr. Oz. And later, Jon, Jon and Tommy play a game to figure out which Republicans are still on the Trump Train.
“You Fetter Believe It!”
Democrats fight off a Red Wave in a historic midterm that defied expectations and handed Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans a stunning defeat. All eyes turn to Georgia, Nevada, Arizona and California, where the mail-in vote will determine control of Congress. And some of Donald Trump’s biggest fans urge him to wait on that presidential announcement.
