The King of Comedy 2
Rupert Pumpkin is back! This week, we are writing a sequel to Martin Scorsese's "The King of Comedy." Will the film answer whether the last film's climax took place within the protagonist's head? Will this be a legacy sequel or will we de-age Robert De Niro like "The Irishman" did? What's The Clash gotta do with all of this? Will Sam adopt Scorsese's four hour work days? Does our audience know what McCarthy-ism is? Will we be able to match Taika Waititi's godlike improv skills? Which of our former guests farted in any Oscar nominees office? All that and more on the new episode of Podcast 2: The Sequel.

American Psycho 2 with Eva Lucy Alvarado
We have to return some videotapes...okay?! This week on the Podcast we are diving deep into Mary Harron's American Psycho with special guest Eva Lucy Alvarado! She's a mega fan of Mary's Brett Easton Ellis adaptation, so we're heading to the Yale room with her to write a followup to the 2000's cult classic. Will Christian Bale return as Patrick Bateman? Will his business card finally spell "Acquisition" correctly? Is Bill Sage able to sweat on queue like Christian did? How does Dimes Square tie into all of this? Why are we somehow discussing Saltburn a whole two weeks after that episode? Is this officially the start of our beef with Red Scare? How does the history of French Clown education tie into all of this? Find out on this week's episode of Podcast 2 The Sequel.

Saltburn II: Throat Gho$t
It’s the fall of 2006, you know what that means…Arcade Fire’s 2009 album “The Suburbs” needs to be on the soundtrack! On this week’s episode, the Podcast 2 received a call from A24 - they want a sequel to Emerald Fennel’s 2023 hit film “Saltburn,” this time with even more sucking and slurping. How will we find a new character arc for Barry Koeghen’s character, especially when the last one ended with such finality? Will we be able to figure out a way to bring Jacob Elordi back? Will we be able to bring his eyebrow piercing back? Why did we spend so much of the episode talking about Dan Harmon’s “Monster House” screenplay? Did we somehow do a second episode in a row that extensively discusses vending machine logistics? What is Pepperburn? Who is “The Throat Ghost?” All that and more on this week’s episode of Podca$t 2: The $equel.

The Nice Guys 2 with Patrick Koehle
Shane Black is... Shane Back?
Nope! Turns out Hollywood turned to their favorite ghostwriting professionals, the Podcast Two, to cook up a sequel to the critically acclaimed box-office bomb The Nice Guys (2016). We bring in our filmmaker friend, Patrick Koehle, a certified Nice Guy himself, to help us crack the story on this 70s noir sequel. Tensions rise between the three writers as they brainstorm a worthy successor to the the Ryan Gosling-Russel Crowe buddy cop mystery. It gets hot in the kitchen but if you can't handle the flames then stay out of the kitchen. The filmography of Lethal Weapon and Iron Man 3 director Shane Black spark a fiery debate pondering where the screenwriting ends and directing begins. And the script pitch is one of our best yet! David Zaslav pushes Max to the limits of his ideological commitment to cinema. Pat and Max mercilessly bully Sam, but does he have it coming? Will Ryan Gosling be able to stop the the housing crisis? Should it be set in the 80's in Philly? Is that too depressing? Is Reagan somehow involved?Does it go all the way to the top? Olivia Munn said what? Many if not all of these questions will be acknowledged on this week's all new episode of Podcast 2: The Sequel. -
Avatar 3: The Seed Bearer
May Eywa be with you! This week on the Podcast, we ring in the Holidays with a special new sequel for James Cameron's momentous followup to his 2022 success "The Way of Water." This episode is a special blast from the past because it's the second episode we ever recorded (done in January 2022). Will our new sequel keep the story centered around the water tribe? How will we handle the growing moral complexity of Spider? Will the film create a more challenging character arc for Jake Sully? How do Bionicles tie into all this? How did we end up including Jonah Hill's therapist? Did Bob Iger get a poop out before our pitch? Does Tuk survive? All that and more on this week's episode of Podcast 2: The Sequel.

Breezy and Informative
Hilarious. Emotional. Genius. The minutes fly by listening to these two jabber on; when you think your favorite movie can’t have a sequel—think again!

Learn about filmmaking while listening to snark
The cohosts have a great rapport and are fun to listen to - it feels like being part of the friend group. They really commit to the bit of having been hired to write whatever sequel it is and it’s funny but also legitimately interesting. This is my new favorite content to put on while I do my work-from-home job! Super fun, even if you haven’t seen the movies they are riffing on,
