Tsumei and Boa rescue Kaizoku from the forest bandits after his mishap on the river. The ronin find Setsuo's son Ichiro and a new deal is struck. Tsumei confronts his blackmailer.

Tsumei prepares for a duel with Naoki. The crew also determines the best steps for pursuing the missing boy Kai, unaware of what they may find on their way.

Kaizoku, Boa, and Tsume confront the strange old woman Aguri at her hut in the woods. They negotiate for the fate of the children who were wandering in the forest.

Tsumei divulges the details of his nightmares to a priest in Nestled Village and learns some unsettling news. Boa struggles with the consequences of his past transgressions. The ronin are interrupted by a messenger as they begin their journey to Closed Shell Castle.
