Pope John XXIII has died. The hierarchy of the Catholic Church is gathering at the Vatican to choose his successor. But there is a snake in the garden - a demon trying to corrupt the process. Ruth, the angelic head of the Curia, asks a retired hunter to join her to kill the demon and save the Church. Will they succeed? Or will the next Pope answer to a Lower Power?
