Someone Needs to Talk About It

As an elder Millenial, I’ve found it very important to reflect on the media I am currently consuming and the media that shaped my youth. PCMMJ is the perfect way to make sure that the reflections I do are in-depth and take into account all the causes that are important to me.

Deeper Than You Think (But Also Fun)

The best part about PCMMJ is the depths and lengths that Julia and her guests go into on each given topic. Sure, it’s about XYZ movie or book (loved the one on Nella Larsen’s Passing) but it’s the variety of discussion that’s prompted by the subject matter that reels you in for the long haul. There is a shocking amount you can learn in each episode, and I laugh uncontrollably in most episodes at some point too! And while Julia may be a millennial, she comfortably broaches tv, movies and books from every generation with familiarity and serious smarts!

Such a great podcast!

I just listened to Julia’s interview with Amy Albertson about Asian American representation (or lack thereof) in films and other media. SO interesting and such a much-needed topic, and it gave me some ideas for movies to put on my must-watch list. Love this podcast!
