Pop-Punk & Pizza #100: Jacques LaMore Bangarang Radio

    • Music

Pop-Punk & Pizza Podcast has officially made it to one-hundred episodes! I'm still in disbelief that we have finally reached this milestone. I say that because at the beginning of January 2020, I announced my hiatus from the podcast. My mental health had reached an all time low and it was hard to function through my day to day life, let alone recording new episodes of the podcast. I had told you I didn't know when I would be back. In the back of my mind, I thought it was going to be at least a year before I returned. Right after I made the hiatus announcement, I began focusing more on my mental health. The psychologist I had been seeing for several months said it was time that I gave medication a try. I've struggled with depression and other forms of mental illness most of my life. I always told myself my problems were in my surroundings, not my mind. It wasn't a chemical imbalance in my head, it was the hardships that I was going through. I convinced myself that medication wasn't going to solve or help my problems one bit, so why take them? Well, I decided to give it a try. After a few months, I was starting to feel a lot better. Day to day life was becoming easier and I felt more stable. Then, the Covid-19 pandemic shut everything down. In March, I decided it was time to say, "F**k it", and come back to the podcast. I wanted to help keep music alive during these crazy times. It's because of you that I'm here today. I didn't reach one-hundred episodes. We reached one hundred episodes. That includes guests, listeners, family, and friends.

I can't thank you enough for the support.

With Love,

Jacques LaMore
