#6 - Part 2 - Inclusion : a challenge to better build the world of tomorrow

For the second part of our positive.leaders’ episode on inclusion, we continue our conversation with Amelie Jezabel Mariage, Co-founder of Aprendices Visuales, and Nicolas Froissard, general director and spokesperson for the SOS group.

The first part of this episode focused on how both are furthering the cause of inclusion and bringing about change in their respective fields, along with how people respond to today's inclusion challenges.

While there is still much work to be done, both agreed that there are signs of a shift toward greater inclusion.

In this part, we look at inclusion from a broader perspective, examining the role that institutions, culture, and businesses can play in favour of greater inclusion.

We talk about the role Europe could play in accelerating the transformation towards more inclusive societies, as well as what we can reasonably  hope to achieve by 2030 and what makes them optimistic about the future?

#6 - Part 1 - Inclusion : a challenge to better build the world of tomorrow

Inclusion is regularly presented as key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Yet, it often feels like advancing inclusion in all layers of society is easier said than done.

In this episode of Positive.leaders we explore how two positive leaders are breaking down barriers at their level and how we could accelerate change on a bigger scale.

Amelie Jezabel Mariage is the co-founder of Aprendices Visuales, a Spanish tech for good that harnesses the power of visual learning to help children reach their full potential. Nicolas Froissard is the general director and spokesperson for the SOS group that develops solutions to combat all forms of exclusion through a social entrepreneurship approach.

In this first part, Amelie tells us how her personal experience motivated her to set up Aprendices Visuales, and what role technology could play in creating more inclusive education systems. Nicolas explains how the SOS group tackles exclusion in different fields, the main challenges they face.

Together they discuss the place given to inclusion in the public debate.

#5 - Sustainable fashion: Can green be the new black ?

#5 - Sustainable fashion: Can green be the new black ?

We’ve all heard it before: fashion, and in particular fast fashion, is one of the most polluting industries. So how can we put unsustainable practices out of fashion?

In this episode of #Positive Leaders, we look at how Aigle, a French clothing and footwear label, and Rifo, an Italian circular fashion startup, are driving change in the garment and footwear industries. Sandrine Conseiller, CEO of Aigle, believes that customers are now conscious of their impact and vote through their wallets.

We learn about the motivation behind Aigle’s decision to become a mission-driven company, as well as the implications for the production line. Niccolo Cipriani, tells us about  the journey that led him to leave his job for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Vietnam and launch Rifo in Italy, a social enterprise  manufacturing garments and accessories from recycled and recyclable textile fibers.

Together, we explore how to entice more people to choose sustainable fashion brands, how more traditional companies can take concrete actions to act for the common good, if there is an evolution in the demand for sustainable fashion, what role Europe can play in this transition, as well as how legislation and culture can help accelerate the change.

#4 - How can financial companies help create a more sustainable society?

Presented as key to transition to net zero and fairer economies, green and social finance has witnessed a fast expansion in recent years. What transformational role can financial companies really play in creating a more sustainable society?

In this episode of #Positive.Leaders we are joined by Philippe Zaouati, CEO of Mirova, an asset management company specializing in sustainable investment, created within Natixis in 2014, and Helena Mueller, COO of Green Assets Wallet, an independent platform using Blockchain to make the investments into green bonds more transparent and immutable. While both believe that sustainable investing is crucial in transforming our two-century-old economic structure into models that preserve the environment and promote social inclusion, Philippe  explains how Mirova balances societal interest and financial profit. and Helena Mueller talks about the importance of digital tools in accelerating the transition to greener investment.

Together we explore whether there is room for a new narrative to emerge around our economic and financial system, how established financial institutions can be part of a systemic transformation, as well as look at current advances and future challenges..

#3 - How to eat and drink right to preserve the planet?

In this episode of #positiveleaders, we look at how a beer brand, Toast Ale, and a global food and beverage company, Danone, two purpose-driven companies, address the challenge. Toast Ale's chief toaster, Robert Wilson, believes “to change the world, you have to throw better parties than the corporation destroying it”. He tells us how he intends to do it with his beer made of surplus fresh bread that would otherwise be wasted, while Danone’s VP of research and innovation User eXperience, Victoire Dairou talks about how she engages consumers in healthier and more sustainable eating and drinking practices. #2 - Reimagining healthcare with social entrepreneurs

Meet with two social entrepreneurs on a mission to make quality healthcare radically accessible. For this episode of #positiveleaders, we explore the health innovations by Jos de Blok and Krystian Fikert.

With Humanity over Bureaucracy as his motto, Jos de Blok is a nurse by profession and the CEO of Buurtzorg. We learn  how he built community-based (home) care services through highly qualified licensed nurses while making their daily work more meaningful and sustainable.

A psychologist by profession, Krystian Fikert takes us on a journey of what prompted him to start MyMind - an affordable and accessible mental health service which aims to bypass the need for clinical referral, long waiting lists, and high-cost services. They join us to talk about the complexities of transforming the healthcare system, their contribution in shifting the traditional health narrative, ways to accelerate innovation in healthcare, the role of Europe in supporting change-makers, and what can we reasonably hope to achieve by 2030 particularly for SDG3, i.e., Good Health and well being.
