First of all, congratulations on your weight loss and more importantly maintenance! You truly are an inspiration and your enthusiasm is infectious! I am in my fourth month of weight loss and I am so thankful for your daily podcasts to keep me motivated! Every day I cannot wait to walk so that I can check in with you! It feels like we are friends. I spend a lot of time in this journey learning about how to make healthy lifelong choices that I can hold on to and your podcasts and meal prep ideas on Instagram help significantly! Tween Week Episode 368

I just listened to Episode 368, Tween Week.
This broke my heart. I was the fifth grader who weighed 150 lbs and had to wear women’s clothes. And it 1989 that was ..... well I definitely wasn’t setting fashion trends. I wish there had been a resource for me then to tell me I’m perfect the way I am. And that I didn’t need to eat a whole pizza to feel better. And it didn’t matter that I couldn’t wear crop tops.
As the parent of a 9 year-old-girl I’ve tried to break then habits my parents gave me. We are not a “clean your plate family”. She love to dance so we encourage that because she’s developing a habit of physical activity.
And thought I still struggle with my weight. I’m very careful to not show her that I still carry a lot of body image issues.
Listening to the two young ladies in your podcast made me realize that in this age of body positivity, kids are still kids and that maybe I need to talk to my daughter more. To see how she feels about herself. And how she see people who are larger than her.
Thank You for this podcast. It needed to be said.
