    Coming Soon: Rico en Sueños

The island of Puerto Rico has been in the news a lot for the past few years. However, many of us still don't know much about its people and their history, and the little we have learned rarely comes from Puerto Rican voices. With that in mind, this season on the Power of You in Fiction, we present "Rico en Sueños". We'll talk to Puerto Rican creators about their relationship with the island, how it influences their work, and what they hope to share about the island with the world.

They've got three fabulous and phenomenal guests for this episode -- Esmeralda Santiago, Isabel Dieppa, and Venessa Vida-Kelley -- who reflect and share their thoughts about the prominent cultural influence the people of Africa brought to the island of Puerto Rico during their enslavement, and how the blending of African, Taino, and Spanish traditions helped to shape Puerto Rico in the country it is today.

You can find all of Esmeralda's works via her website and follow her on Twitter - @Esmo.

    Puerto Rican Enough?

    Puerto Rican Enough?

Welcome back podcast fam! The PoYiF team is excited to get back into groove after their mid-season break and finish off their journey of exploring the reciprocal impact and influence art and identity have had on the island of Puerto Rico and its people. This episode will tackle the tension many members of the Puerto Rican diaspora experience with being a person of two identities or "bi-cultural" as guest host Navani Otero puts in. So join Wilson and Navani as they try to grapple with what it means to be "Puerto Rican Enough".

Great content analysis and awesome guests

I really appreciate the extra levels of analysis this podcast provides. They have a good a way of unpacking some complex issues that comic book stories present, and they do it in a welcoming and super chill way. Plus, they have great interview guests. I really loved the interviews with Julie Kerwin of I Am Elemental.
