Welcome to Episode 61 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing
In episode 61 the topic is creating an online empire by writing and publishing a series of eBooks on your niche topic. You’ll be able to position yourself as an expert and help others to achieve their goals in the process.
I first learned about eBooks – electronic books – from Joe Vitale. He was teaching a course on this when I got started with my online business in 2006. I learned so much from Joe during this time and began writing my own eBooks on topics I was familiar with, like real estate, homeschooling, and starting an online business after age 50.
Keep in mind that this was years before Amazon jumped into the world of publishing with Kindle, Create Space (now a part of KDP – Kindle Direct Publishing) and traditional publishing was the norm for most authors. Instead, we self-published our eBooks and sold them on our own website(s) to people who wanted to learn more about our topic.
Keyword research is crucial to your success with this business model. Start out with Google and use their free Google Suggest feature. When you uncover as many keywords and keyword phrases as possible for your niche topic, people searching for what you have written about will more easily find you.
Jim Edwards has what I consider to be the best training on how to write eBooks, hands down. You’ll be amazed at how inexpensive this training is, and how much information is included.

~ ~ ~
I began back in 2006 with affiliate marketing. I did not have a list, and used my blog and my articles to get my name and message out to the world. I still earn an excellent income with affiliate marketing and it accounts for just over 40% of my income. You may become my affiliate at Affiliate Links and Tools.
Soon, I added local business marketing to what I had to offer. Initially, I was helping a family member who’d started a new business. After my results improved and I was able to help make his office phone ring, I began offering marketing help for small, local businesses in my community.
Other business models to consider are digital information products, coaching and consulting, niche sites and authorship. I would encourage you to pursue your interests and goals as you choose a business model that suits your lifestyle.
I’m encouraging you to write every day. Write about what you know, share stories from your heart and your life experiences, and publish your writing, at least online for others to read. My most recent website and blog is Monday Morning Mellow and you can get an idea of what I’m sharing with the world and how this can become a business model for you. See all of my books I’ve published here. Also, here are some things that will enhance your life experience…
