Welcome to Episode 86 of Praestabilis: Excellence in Marketing
Welcome Aboard for Episode 86 of the podcast! This time I’m discussing… “Service to others, two hours a day to profits, and strategies for “having it all” with great success.”
This week I’ve been serving in my community of Santa Barbara, connecting with long-time and brand new friends alike, and feeling like I can truly make a difference as one person in the world. Someone from my Rotary Club said to me… “Connie, you have it all. What’s your secret?” Without hesitation, I answered…
“Yes, I have it all and anyone can do the same. I had a burning desire to change my life back in 2006. I held absolute faith that I could make it happen. I began a daily routine of positive self-talk. I used my imagination and daydreamed about the life I craved. I hired a mentor to help me map out a plan. And I took massive action every single day, and still do to this day.”
I realized I now had a small crowd encircling me, and I told them what I tell you each and every day… Write to me at conniegreenhouse at yahoo dot com to discuss this, or anything else. Also, I published a blog post about all of this a few months back at https://connieragengreen.com/think-and-grow-rich-in-12-steps/ you may find helpful. These aren’t my original ideas, but I’ve embraced them as my own and live by them every day.
Connecting and collaborating with others is crucial to our great success. While waiting in line at the post office years ago, a woman struck up a conversation with me. It turned out we had much in common, as she had been an author and online entrepreneur for close to three decades, while I was still relatively new. I waited for her to complete her transaction at the window and then gave her my card. That woman was none other than Barbara J. Winter, author of Making a Living Without a Job: Winning Ways for Creating Work That You Love and if she hadn’t been the first one to “talk to a stranger” that day, I might have never have known she lived less than ten miles from my home.
My “Two Hours a Day Profit Plan” includes writing, marketing, and connecting with others. Today, this included sending out an email to my online community, outlining and recording this podcast episode, reaching out to two colleagues via email and Messenger, and editing the lessons for my new course, Really Simple Short Reports. Later this morning, I have a call with a client to work on her business and marketing strategies.
Whether I’m at home or traveling, local or abroad I make it a point to limit my time online to no more than two hours during any twenty-four hour period. That’s all it takes for me to run a seven figure, international business that I love.
You may have heard about “accidental tourists” and now it’s time for you to become the “accidental networker” with this “talking to a stranger” philosophy. I’d love to hear about your results.

This month I’m traveling, grateful to spend time with family, friends, and colleagues I haven’t hugged in three years. During the years I worked as a classroom teacher and part-time in real estate, vacations were something I saved for a year in advance. While I was away from home, I had zero income coming in and it was tough making ends meet and also having some time away from work.
Once I started online, I understood the value of passive income and began to set some things in place. Early on, I was attending a live event in North Carolina with...
