    Celebrating the Wins

In our opening chatter we talk about how our week has been. What’s on Our Timeline? SLIM Kim on TikTok got us out here collecting our flowers even with the obstacles we go through as black women. Let’s Talk Through It Our first friend is a travel nurse. She has only been at her hospital for 5 months and already been nominated for recognition. Now it's time to nominate again and she wants to nominate another African American nurse. Her Asian boyfriend thinks she shouldn’t nominate anyone because she is not full time and that she only wants to nominate this woman because she is black. She asks if she is being unfair by participating since she is not full time. Our other friend is a millennial and thinks she may be too hard on herself. She’s about to be 40 and has a good job as a restaurant manager but thought she would be a lot further along than she currently is. Until we meet again. Pray! Work! Slay! Escape Fund or Rainy Day Fund?

Escape Fund or Rainy Day Fund?

In our opening chatter we talk about how our week has been. What’s on Our Timeline? We came across this on our timeline via power credit consultants: women are saving their own money, some of their husband's money and their joint money and they're calling it escape money. Let’s Talk Through It Our first friend makes significantly more money than her fiance, and did not feel obligated to tell him how much she makes. They discussed purchasing their first home together and after getting married she doesn’t want him to bank on her income to contribute to half of the bills. Our other friend is a male listener who said he and his wife struggled after his furlough from work and the pandemic. This was until his wife revealed her sizeable rainy day fund. Since then, he started his own rainy day fund and has put away a pretty good amount but doesn’t know if and how he should tell his wife. Pray! Work! Slay! And Show Off Your Melanated Excellence!

In her post on TikTok she is discussing what makes a man dateable, what makes a man a good husband and what are the characteristics that make a man husband material?. Let’s Talk Through It Our first friend is in love with her fiance and lately has been asking about their future financial plans. When she asks him if he contributes to his 401k he says he doesn’t know. Our other friend loves her husband of 20 years with all her being. Early in their marriage he was the breadwinner and had a plan for their family, However, he lost his job during the pandemic and while he has a job now it's a lesser position and he seems to be a shell of his former self and she needs some Godly advice.
