Let me try to explain what this music is… These songs were created by playing drums to guitar loops using various effects pedals with minimal overdubs. Doing my best to make songs I can play live without getting too complicated. I’ve been in bands before (Helms, Dagobah, Pizza, Challenger). This project does not feel like a band. Creating songs in a band is a collaborative process where each member brings their own ideas and skills to the table. I see being a member in a band sort of like being one part of a construction crew all working together to build a house. Songs are like houses. I don’t see these Pterodan songs as houses.. you can’t build a house by yourself. These songs are more like structures that can be built by one person.. sort of like a shed. SHED ROCK.•

August 2021, I recorded 12 songs at Machines w/ Magnets (@machineswithmagnets) in Pawtucket, RI. Engineered by Seth Manchester (@seffffffy), he patiently worked with me for 3 days and made my drums and guitar sound awesome.
