Decade by Decade Pure Cinema Canon

Decade by Decade Pure Cinema Canon

Happy 2023! Elric and Brian kick off the new year with a sort of response to the latest Sight and Sound List of the greatest films of all-time, by doing their own list of the Pure Cinema Canon of Great Films by listing two films each per decade from the 1920s on up to the 2020s. This was not an easy task but was a lot of fun and hopefully makes for an enjoyable discussion.

Enough with the prequel explanations

Enough with the prequel explanations - let's hear the content. Ok Black Heart, White Hunter directed by Clint Eastwood written by James Brdges. Good! I like it! (Once the explanations and disclaimers are over. Interesting the modesty is something women are always told not to show when they present something.

JohnZen99 ,

Interesting, but….

The show is easy to listen to, and the hosts are smart. However, the Tarantino episodes are so badly mic’ed that it is unlistenable.

Wpjs ,

Good, once great.

The over indulgence in Tarantino worship has caused this once very unique cinema podcast to lose it’s vision and voice. And the constant shilling for the New Bev (owned by QT) come on guys, not all of us live in LA. (That said- Tarantino was better here than on his own podcast)
