Lots cool behind the scenes info
Sometimes I love listening to this show and feel like I’m getting lots of fascinating info on the world of graphic novels and comics. Every once in a while the show drifts way off into the weeds and gets very boring, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. It either gets too deep into the personal fannish opinions of one of the panelists, or too far into discussions of things like gripes about the latest cons(which are the same gripes each time)
Way better than any old conspiracy theory podcast! Seriously, these three know more about the world of comics publishing than probably anyone. Veritable founts of knowledge, they are. If I have a complaint it’s that it’s a bit heavy on pop culture/con recaps/complaints about the Javitz Center bathrooms and a bit lighter on actual news, scoops, and publisher interviews than I would prefer. But I quibble! Love you, Heidi, Calvin, and Kate!!
Great Way to Stay Up on Comics Biz
I find I’m rarely missing as episode of this show in a time when comics publishing is undergoing fascinating evolution and news about it proves a challenge to keep abreast of. Heidi, Kate, & Calvin’s nicely developed conversational dynamic makes for easy listening. Hope they’re at it together for a long time to come.
Note: Episode 447 — do stick around to end of tape, you won’t regret it.
