Customer Reviews
Hyperbole is their brand
Windy cites Celtics ‘historic win’ against Warriors team down two starters at the end of a four game Eastern Conference road trip. This is but one example of the ‘over the top’ reporting that can make listening to the pod a tiresome experience. If you can get past the ‘First Take’ level of hyperbole, an unabashed embrace of recency bias, and seemingly endless Lakers reporting, there is excellent content to be found.
Windhorst might be the best
Hard working. Integrity. Has a sense of humor about himself.
But Bontemps is unlistenable even as a foil to McMahon. McMahon occasionally lands a joke but misses more often than not.
Brian keeps the show running and corrals the cats. For that, he get 4 stars.
Windhorst & McMahon good- Spears & Bontemps bad
One of the best NBA podcasts, full stop. Windy and McMahon are fantastic, Pelton and Youngmisuk are excellent… Bontemps can’t stop interrupting and is Embiid’s personal publicist. Enough Marc Spears, please. He was incoherent on the most recent appearance and seldom adds value. Essential listening, despite its warts.
