Crisis on Infinite Queeks - Crisis on Infinite Earths / X-men House of X & Powers of X

Even though we've watched none of the CW Arrowverse shows, we knew we had to check out the Crisis on Infinite Earths. The massive crossover event saw Green Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and the Legends of Tomorrow team up to battle their greatest enemy: coherent storytelling! Needless to say our Marvel bias shows strongly this time around. But shortly thereafter we retreat to the safety of the familiar along with our two guests Brett and Coleman, who join us in reading the X-Men crossover series House of X and Powers of X, which follow the mutants as they try the one plan they’ve never tried before: statehood! If you want to yell at us for not following along with the Arrowverse or for getting our X-Men lore wrong, be sure to write a strongly-worded review on Apple Podcasts, and encourage your friends to do the same!

EnQueek! - Encore / Our First Musicals

EnQueek! - Encore / Our First Musicals

Theater kids eventually have to grow up, but Encore! has given them a chance to relive their glory days. We watched the new Disney+ series that follows former casts of high school musicals as they remount their original productions. They have five days to rehearse before curtain, all while also navigating old flings, new hip injuries, and the eternal urge to start a massage train. We also decided to relive our OWN glory days and watch each other’s old school musicals. We reveled in the cracked voices and grapevining that made up “You Ain’t Nothin’ But A Werewolf” (2004) and “Aliens in Paradise” (2004), two shows that have aged just like their stars: with mixed results. If you want to give these former theater nerds (and current everything else nerds) your support, head over to Apple Podcasts and leave Queeks a review. And tell your old castmates to listen to this episode! You know your old Facebook group is still up.

Are we there yet? Almost! The Rainbow Road to the Oscars is nearing its end, as nominations release and betting begins. In this mini Queek we look at three buzz-generating movies: 1917, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and Dolemite Is My Name. As always we will share a ballot on our website (queekspodcast.com) to guess the Oscar winners, and whomever is closest will receive a fabulous prize! We’ll also be live-gramming the Oscars on February 9, so be sure to follow us on Instagram @queekspodcast before then!

How I Felt When I Saw That Queek - The Witcher / Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga

How I Felt When I Saw That Queek - The Witcher / Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga

The Witcher is Netflix’s attempt at filling the Game of Thrones shaped void in the TV landscape, a Herculean feat it may not be up for. Based on the acclaimed fantasy novels and their video game adaptation, this show charts a dangerous course through the source material’s fandom and a more savvy TV audience. Also on Netflix is the completely unrelated Bollywood film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. It puts an unexpected LGBT spin on the romcom format familiar to Indian and American audiences alike, and was a treat to watch.Want to share your thoughts on our thoughts on these pieces? Head over to Apple Podcasts and leave us a review, and tell all your friends about us!

Exit Stage Queeks: The Baby Yoda Chronicles - The Mandalorian / The Snagglepuss Chronicles

Exit Stage Queeks: The Baby Yoda Chronicles - The Mandalorian / The Snagglepuss Chronicles

The Mandalorian gave Star Wars fans what they’ve always wanted: a live action TV series set in the galaxy far, far away. It also gave parents a headache when no Baby Yoda toys hit the shelves before the holidays. Merchandizing aside, we had a lot to talk about here, from callbacks to the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series and the no-longer-canon Old Republic, as well as guest stars galore. And then, in a totally bizarre detour, we discuss Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles, a comic based on the pink cartoon mountain lion set during the Red Scare. Intrigued? So were we! If you haven’t yet, now would be a great time to follow us on Instagram @queekspodcast or visit our new website at queekspodcast.com for more from us!

Rainbow Road to the Oscars, Part 3: The Golden Globes

Rainbow Road to the Oscars, Part 3: The Golden Globes

Every road trip involves at least one disgusting rest stop, and on the Rainbow Road to the Oscars, there is no more disgusting a rest stop than the Golden Globes. When we arent throwing shade at this half-assed booze fest, we make our predictions by trying to get in the mind of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the shadowy cabal that runs the show. As always, we'll also be live-gramming the show (January 5 at 8pm EST) and we'll release a ballot to see if you can out predict us. Good luck!
