You Don't Have to Settle for a Mediocre Dating Life
You don’t have to settle for a mediocre dating life. You don’t have to go on endless first dates. You don’t have to swipe for hours each night. You don’t have to continue getting ghosted, ghosting others, dealing with drama, uncertainty, the weight of putting yourself out there and getting acquainted with people you’re not even compatible with. You don’t have to keep expending your energy and dressing up for people who don’t give a shit about you.
The exciting, great thing about coming into yourself is that, slowly and slowly over time, you have less and less energy and tolerance for people who disturb your peace. You become better at setting your boundaries. You become better at communicating yourself, your needs, and your wants because you know exactly what it is that you need and want, what you deserve, and what you’re worthy of.
And I’m not saying it’s easier because it’s not. I’m not saying it’s more efficient and that you’ll find better partners this way and that everything will be a breeze. It’s tough finding partners who fully respect you. But it is worth it.
Sexual Intent vs. Sexual Motive
In law, there’s a clear distinction made between intention and motivation. Intention describes the purpose of doing something, while motivation describes the reason behind it — and this same, very simple understanding can be applied to our sex and dating lives.
When the Desires of Your Body & Mind Don't Match (aka Arousal Non-Concordance)
Have you ever found yourself wanting to have sex and being so into it mentally, but your body can’t get there?
Or maybe the opposite has happened to you — a time when your body becomes sexually aroused (wet, hard, etc.) by something you’re not even into?
Thank heavens for sexuality professionals because there’s actually a term for this phenomenon and it’s called AROUSAL NON-CONCORDANCE ~ when your mental arousal and your physical arousal don’t match.
In this episode, I explain this occurrence and provide several tips to help navigate it.
