Choosing Success As A Creative with ‘Artpreneur’ Author Miriam Schulman

When Miriam Schulman, an artist who was told she couldn't make a living from her craft, was confronted with the same false narrative in 2020, she embarked on a journey to prove it wrong and write the book, "Artpreneur," a guide to making a living from creative ideas, and inspire others to do the same. For this week’s episode I got to sit down with Miriam to hear about her journey as an artist and author of her soon to be released book. She has made her living as a portrait artist for 20 years and is passionate about helping others to believe in themselves and their creative ideas.

"Choose to be whatever it is that you want to be in your life. You choose it. So if you say you are an artist, then you can work for you." - Miriam Schulman

In this episode, you will learn the following:

How to make a living from one's creative ideas. The importance of believing in yourself, what you are offering, and your buyer. Leveraging online marketing strategies to build an email list and make a successful business.

Setting my Goals and Intentions for a More Profitable 2023

Setting my Goals and Intentions for a More Profitable 2023

In this week’s episode I wanted to share a behind the scenes look into what I’m planning for the new year and what my intentions, word of the year, and goals are for 2023. I always love when other people share things like that, so I thought I would do it too for those of you who like that behind the scenes look at someone else’s business.
If you’re listening for the first time, I’m Alessandra, the founder of Quotable Media Co, a PR and media agency, and the host of this- the Quotable Podcast. I started this podcast as a way to connect with and inspire other female entrepreneurs, founders, and business owners.  After being in business for 10 years, and having to take my office fully remote after Covid, I am proud to have gotten this far even with the shifts in my business model that took place. The beginning of the year always energizes me to set my intentions and goals for the year, so I wanted to share mine with you, as I recalibrate my priorities. Listen in to hear the things I am planning to work on this year and hopefully be inspired to set some of your own intentions and goals this year too.
If there’s one thing I am adamant about it’s that I love setting goals and planning them and working toward them. I also find it really important to revisit them regularly and ensure they are still working toward what you want for your life or your business, because that does sometimes change and that is allowed to change, even within one year.

In this episode you will learn:
Why I’m planning my goals around different parts of the year What it means to amplify and how I plan to do that this year Ways I’m planning to improve and prioritize profitability this year

The Unique Real Estate Investing Strategy Anyone Can Use with Palak Shah

The Unique Real Estate Investing Strategy Anyone Can Use with Palak Shah

On this week’s episode I got to sit down with Palak Shah, a mechanical engineer-turned-real estate investor, who is on a mission to empower women and minorities to build their own real estate empires, despite the risk-averse conditioning of their past. Palak is the founder and CEO of Open Spaces, a company with two arms: Open Spaces Capital, an investing arm with a $10 million portfolio of residential and commercial rentals, and Open Spaces Women, an education arm that helps others transition from the corporate grind to real estate investing.

Palak previously worked as a mechanical engineer for 17 years and, after deciding to have kids, realized she had to choose between motherhood and career growth. She and her husband decided to buy a few rent ready rentals and, after realizing it was something they wanted to pursue, Shah quit her job to focus on real estate investing. She found a value add investing strategy that allowed her to buy distressed properties

"We don't realize that the higher up we climb in the corporate ladder, the less time we have for the family. And it came to a point where I felt like I was in a very unfair position where as a woman I had to choose between enjoying motherhood and enjoying career growth."

In this episode you will learn:
How to build wealth through long-term rental properties as opposed to flipping them. How to leverage money up front when starting out in real estate investing. How to use systems and processes to make real estate investing more profitable.

Use Your Personal Success Code to Create an Aligned Biz with Jess Bubbico

In this week’s episode of the podcast I get to chat with, Jess Bubbico, founder of Love Your Woo, as she helps entrepreneurs connect with their inner knowingness to create a unique success code for their business.
Jess Bubbico is a human design and gene keys coach who helps entrepreneurs create businesses that feel authentic and aligned for them.
This episode is about how human design can help people understand their own unique success code. Jess Bubbico learned about how human design can help people understand their own unique success code when she was looking for a way to help her clients build their businesses in a more authentic and aligned way. She found that human design, the gene keys, and other tools she uses help people to get anchored in themselves and understand what they're here to serve to the world.
"If we don't have that inner core knowingness of our own personal success code, of what we want, of what's important to us, then we might find ourselves constantly getting pulled in different directions, doubting ourselves, et cetera."

In this episode, you will learn the following:

How our unique success code can help us create a business that feels authentic and aligned for us What human design and the gene keys can teach us about our own personal success code How we can use our five senses to connect with our inner knowingness and intuition Connect with us:

Megan Galane on How to Systemize Your Business So It Runs Without You

Megan Galane on How to Systemize Your Business So It Runs Without You

Don't know how to get started with systems in your business? In this week’s episode I got to chat with Megan Galane, the CEO and founder of the SOS Advantage, where she helps CEOs in the service-based industry build operational systems. Galane got into systemizing when she realized that her family's company wasn't as digitized as it could be. She then went into building her own company with the goal of immediately replacing herself.
"I learned that I'm never going to stop doing what I enjoy doing, which is creating businesses. So I had to learn to systemize. I had to learn how to delegate. I had to learn how to run a team efficiently."
Megan Galane was working in her family's company and was interested in creating passive income on the side. She was pushed to the edge of burnout and had to make a choice between her health and business. She chose her health and spent a year systemizing her business so she could eventually step away and still have it run smoothly. After committing to the process, she was able to find a balance between her health and business and eventually created an agency where she is now replaceable. She focuses on creating systems that allow for her team to take on the day-to-day tasks and for her to step into a CEO role.

In this episode, you will learn the following:
How to systemize and build a business so that it can run without the founder's involvement. The importance of choosing one's health over business. How to make the transition from a one-person business to a company with multiple employees.  We’d love to hear from you.
