Radio Free Disneyland is a curated music podcast that tells the stories of the Disneyland Resort in a rather unique presentation. Using an eclectic mix of Disney music, not-so-Disney music, and definitely-not-Disney music to tell the stories of the “lands,” their origins, and their citizenry. Real and imagined. Usually with a backbeat.
The first episode revealed the backstory of two former eastern bloc operatives with an ax to grind against the Anaheim, California theme park. They believe the park to be a powerful and dangerous distillate of America. The United States on steroids. Its contents, an idyllic turn-of-the-century American town, a stately riverboat, rocket ships, and the fleet of submarines all confirm the power of the place. Along the way, unique song selections, surprising guests, and an off-center look at park-centric subjects, brings to mind the stories, the people, and the magic places. The central figure in this secretive cabal is Deejay Middlebrow, a down on his luck disc jockey who is chosen to run the radio propaganda arm of this shadowy foreign operation.
Join us for this musical magazine that includes Disney history, great guests, and park explorations to tell the tales of the Magic Kingdoms in a unique way in this faux radio broadcast you must hear to believe.

Robert Moses (December 18, 1888 – July 29, 1981) was an American public official who worked mainly in the New York metropolitan area. Known as the "master builder" of mid-20th century New York City, Long Island, Rockland County, and Westchester County, he is sometimes compared to Baron Haussmann of Second Empire Paris, and was one of the most polarizing figures in the history of urban development in the United States. His decisions favoring highways over public transit helped create the modern suburbs of Long Island and influenced a generation of engineers, architects, and urban planners.
This simultaneously bold and bland building housed the State of Illinois pavilion, featuring Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. The winkin' blinkin' Lincoln was a sensation.

it's a small world (presented by Pepsi Cola for UNICEF) was also staged in a modern building. Rolly Crump's Tower of the Four Winds presaged the the playful look the Disneyland alliteration would take on.
Ford Motor Company's Magic Skyway got the "skinniest" relocation to Disneyland after the Fair. Walt Disney had fought Cast requests to build a new administration building at the Park, but gave in when it involved making a home for the Fair's dinosaurs to be seen from the Disneyland Railroad.
General Electric's Carousel of Progress had the most successful relocation of all the Fair shows. Playing at Disneyland and then at Walt Disney World.
WED Enterprises (Walt Disney Imagineering) brought three lessons learned at Disneyland to the Fair. Capacity, Capacity, and Capacity.

Radio Free Disneyland Podcast
A fabulous, strange, atmospheric podcast devoted to illuminating and inside-info pieces on the workings of Disneyland and its influence on the culture at large.
Terrible show. Don’t waste your time.
Terrible show. Don’t waste your time.
Must listen! High concept Disney love.
You'll probably see a lot of people struggling to come up with the right words for this podcast. However, you must hear it for yourself to understand.
It's part setlist, part radio play. You'll hear a curated list of songs around a theme, mixed with brief text passages. Some of it is clearly explained, while other parts walk the line of a make-believe world.
Ultimately, this is a whole new class of Disney podcast. It moves beyond the "two or three people with mics" formula to a work of art that can be listened to again and again.
