Embracing the Things We Don’t Like

Embracing the Things We Don’t Like

How much time do you spend running away from things you don’t like? Green veggies may come to mind, or a specific task at work. This weekend, try instead to turn toward things you usually avoid and approach them with curiosity. This is a useful skill to have and you may find you like kale more than you think.

If Enlightenment Happens, You Won’t Miss It

If Enlightenment Happens, You Won’t Miss It

We get a lot of questions about journaling during a meditation. A lot of thoughts pop up during meditation — they could be creative or insightful. And we may  want to remember them. But stopping your meditation to write things down changes the nature of the exercise and may even create more tension. Try to resist this urge. New Quarantine Skill: Juggling

Are you in the process of learning something new? Or are you quitting a new skill before you’ve really learned it because you think you’re bad at it? The Spectacular Now

    The Spectacular Now

Not too long ago, Andy helped Cookie Monster out while he was waiting for his latest batch of cookies to bake. And while you may not be a cookie monster, you may often find yourself waiting for something else to happen, which often means you’re missing out on what is actually happening right now. Remember, what’s happening right now is enough.

Check out Andy’s adventures with all of our friends on Sesame Street.

You Don’t Have to Know It All

You Don’t Have to Know It All

We often feel the need to know everything about our lives and ourselves. We want to know everything that happens next. That need for control can lead to a lot of anxiety. If you have someone on your mind this weekend, try asking a trusted friend for advice, and actually listen to it. See what happens.
