Gudskul & Mechu Rapela (part 2)

There are moments when you spend time with family and moments with friends. Then there are those moments, that you can only experience with Gudskul, where we gathered in the curator's flat, laughing, singing, exchanging ideas, and thinking together.

This is the second part of the conversation with Gudskul members who participated in Momentum and its curator Mechu Rapela. Hosted by our regular radio host and one of the curators of Momentum Wei Ting Tseng.

Margrethe Pettersen, Line Solberg Dolmen & Ebba Moi

Margrethe Pettersen, Line Solberg Dolmen & Ebba Moi

The artists Margrethe Pettersen, Line Solberg Dolmen, and curator Ebba Moi have shared an intimate insight about the process of the exhibition "Samtaler med det som renner dypt".

For their MOMENTUM 12 collaboration, a hidden creek in Jeløya will be made accessible through listening, intervention and movement in the landscape. The process explores fluidity - various bodies and movements of water, as well as underground and overground networks. Inspired by and in collaboration with the surroundings (sounds, stream, trees, plants, polypores, lichens and mushrooms), they will create a site-responsive work. A map handout with notes for guidance invites the audience to an outdoor sensory experience near Galleri F15

The Artist is Present. Contemporary art residencies in schools | Tenthaus & Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art

The Artist is Present. Contemporary art residencies in schools | Tenthaus & Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art

For this episode on Momentum Radio, we would like to introduce one of our partners in the project “The Artist is Present. Contemporary art residencies in schools” together with Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art.

Tenthaus has been main partner in the project “The Artist is Present. Contemporary art residencies in schools” together with Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA) since November 2022. Seven Latvian artists have initiated residencies in schools and Tenthaus collective has been supporting the process through a dynamic exchange. The aim is to develop a stable contact between professional artists and local schools in Latvia.

While so far their interactions have happened online, Latvian artists in the project took part in Momentum 12 in June. On this occasion they had an anticipation of the Summer school, happening in Valmiera in August 2023. During the Summer School the artists together with Tenthaus artists facilitated workshops together for the local kids and youth; Momentum 12 was a place for experimentation and gathering between the Latvian artists, Tenthaus and other biennial participants. In Momentum 12 we open possibilities for inspiring encounters, creating a third space for creativity and resourceful experiences to further develop artistic collaborations during the Summer School.

Fotobook DUMMIES Day 傻瓜書日 Lin Junye & Jacky Jaan-Yuan Kuo

Fotobook DUMMIES Day 傻瓜書日 Lin Junye & Jacky Jaan-Yuan Kuo

Radio Momentum shares with you a conversation by curator Jacky Jaan-Yuan Kuo and artist Lin Junye from Fotobook DUMMIES Day 傻瓜書日, about the on-site specific artwork called "Bread and Butter Bookshop". The conversation is hosted by Wei Ting Tseng.

Fotobook DUMMIES Day focuses on image, self-publishing, and locality, with a practice of connecting communities, facilitating dialogue, and using unconventional exhibition spaces.

This time, they open up the Galleri F15 Library, which is usually closed to the public, to turn it into an on-site specific artwork called "Bread and Butter Bookshop". They use reading, chatting, and self-publishing to spark a conversation: Is the desire to own a photobook similar to buying bread or butter for daily consumption?

    Gabo Camnitzer & Belén Santillán

This is a conversation between curator Belén Santillán and artist Gabo Camnitzer about his work "50 Million Windows" at Momentum 12, hosted by Wei Ting Tseng/Zeng.

50 Million Windows is a collaborative drawing project inspired by the trailblazing public grade school teacher, Albert Collum's prompt to his students from 1963: "Draw every window in New York City." In the project’s first installment, the summer youth camp at Queens Museum (2021) attempted to draw New York City’s current 50,000,000 windows, while discussing what a window really is: where the word comes from ("wind-eye"), what differences in kinds of windows from neighborhood to neighborhood signify, and how our relationship to our windows changed over the course of COVID.

During Momentum 12, we invite you to look through the windows of this gallery and draw every window in Moss.
