Interesting, but ultimately insulting...

I listened to the Dr. Laura episode, and it was my first experience with Random Acts of Tangent.

What did I like? It reminded me of sitting around a coffee shop with my college buddies, talking philosophically about current issues. They're funny, not overly intellectual, very relatable and willing to concede that they might be wrong about a lot of things. I appreciated that malleability when they were discussing a controversial topic like racism.

What didn't I like? They seemed willing to accept doubt and fault in everything they said...until they spoke about conservative and Christian people. They were VERY sure that conservatives were all idiots, "insane" to like Dr. Laura's program, "huge bible thumpers", don't know how to work computers, are "boring" and (albeit jokingly) assumed they were so hopelessly out of date that they were afraid to have their pictures taken in fear of losing their souls.

As a 28 year old conservative, ivy-league educated female, I couldn't help but feel alienated by their disparaging remarks toward, basically, me. Despite the program's endearing qualities, I won't be listening again.
