Get the cold truth about the “art and science of physical transformation” from legendary hardcore strength coach Marty Gallagher, Jim Steel and moderator J.P. Brice. Each week they turn their 100+ years of cumulative experience to some aspect of the transformative equation: progressive resistance, cardiovascular exercise, nutrition, supplementation, recovery accelerators, brain-train & mental recalibration, injury prevention, anti-aging, techniques, tactics, modes, methods and Masters.

Nothing New Under The Sun
Marty recently began working with a 15-year old named Andrew who he set up on a 12-week periodized strength program consisting of mainly the core four lifts, bench press, overhead press, squat and deadlift. For the most part, this is the same lifting strategy Marty used himself as a teenager in 1964. We also discussed questions and concerns parents may have about pre-pubescent kids and teenagers when it comes to strength training, sports performance and nutrition. https://www.ironcompany.com
Mentors and Influencers
Great conversation today on the importance and relevance of mentors and influencers and how they often help shape us into who or what we become in life. We also acknowledged how being mentored evolves into an opportunity to mentor others as a "pay it forward". https://www.ironcompany.com
Dorian Yates Interview | 6-Time Mr. Olympia
6-Time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates stopped by for a chat about his bodybuilding career, training, retirement and even his experience with Ayahuasca. We covered a ton of info but really only scratched the surface. We hope he will be back soon. Thank you again Dorian for coming on. **This episode is also on YouTube in video form** https://www.ironcompany.com
Bullet Proofing The Human Body
Thank you to Dr. Ryan Chow for an engaging and enlightening discussion on how we can bullet proof the human body to prevent and/or recover from injury. Empowering people with proper knowledge and reassurance is key to achieving better mobility, eliminating pain and producing a better version of our current selves both physically and mentally. https://www.ironcompany.com
Ultra-Minimal Power Training - Never Has A Man Done Less And Gone Further
Mark Chaillet was a powerlifting savant. He eventually squatted a below parallel 1,000 lbs in training and 940 in competition. Mark deadlifted 880 weighing 270. He set a dozen world records in the deadlift. He asked for no one’s opinion about training. He had one way of training: period. He trained minimally within each session: three lifts and three lifts only, each done once a week for a single periodized rep. He trained infrequently and he championed the “rested effort.” Mark showed us how little was needed, in terms of training volume, to become massive and strong beyond comprehension. Never has a man done less and gone further. https://www.ironcompany.com

Awesome podcast fellas!
It’s a great long form conversation. I love the knowledge base that these guys bring to the table. It’s like sitting around a table with the old war horses, swapping stores and passing out knowledge for free. I have started at the beginning and have played them all of the way though in the last few weeks. I love the tangents you all get on to too….Keep it up guys!!! It’s truly great.
This podcast is amazing.
Just happened across this the other day. Of course I’m familiar with Marty Gallagher, and the podcast has just been a blast to listen to. Great old school stories, mostly good advice, and will get you psyched up to train.
#1 training podcast of all time for me
I love the content by Marty, JP and Jim. They make everything very easy to understand for both the regular person and experience lifters. They really want people to understand the content and apply them to our every day life. They bring so much experience, history and knowledge in lifting. Appreciate the content and the articles!
