When was the last time you felt fully rested? If you're like most folks, it may have been a looong time ago. In this episode on three selected readings ("Winter-Time" by Robert Louis Stevenson, "Sleep" by Twyla Tharp, and "Song" by Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow), I discuss rest and why it's so difficult to make space for it. 24. Practice Intentional Media Consumption: Reading Deprivation, Week 2

    24. Practice Intentional Media Consumption: Reading Deprivation, Week 2

What do you choose to put into your brain on a daily basis? Books? Social media? Movies? Podcasts? Over the past week, I tried Julia Cameron's reading deprivation exercise from The Artist's Way. Going forward, I know more about what I want to keep in my reading rotation and what I'm better off without. During this week of no reading, I experienced lower anxiety,...

Excellent pod!

I’m really impressed with this podcast. The format of mixing together literary criticism and introspective/zen-like meditation is incredibly creative, enjoyable, and effective. Not only does this show introduce you to excellent new literary works, open ones eyes to new perspectives, and rejuvenate or ignite ones love for literature, but it does so in a way that directly (yet in a centering and stress free manner) translates meaning to life. I absolutely recommend giving it a listen.

Extremely Well Done

Readitations is a magnificently enjoyable experience. The readings are perfectly summarized, the deeper meaning behind them is beautifully articulated, and Celeste does an excellent job translating lessons to be learned in the relaxing and enlightening meditation portion of these episodes. If you enjoy literature, meditation, or you’re just looking for a new and enjoyable way to become self centered, this is the podcast for you!
