Welcome to Real Washington, a new podcast where thought leaders from litigation and regulation to Wall Street and movement politics discuss what's next.
We started this podcast because we too often miss the signs of the future. Too busy with the now to register what's next. There is always a canary in the coal mine. A warning sign of future crisis, when the past becomes prologue. If only we had paid attention.
EP3: Alan Dershowitz on Impeachment
On this episode of Real Washington, with our new Co-Host, former federal prosecutor and CNN legal analyst Michael Zeldin, and special guest Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz, the well-known constitutional and criminal legal scholar, we discuss the fast-breaking impeachment process.
EP2: Is It Time for Puerto Rican Statehood?
Since Hurricane Maria’s devastating strike to Puerto Rico in 2017, there has been renewed interest in granting statehood for the island. In the second edition of our podcast, Real Washington, we explore the arguments in favor of Puerto Rican statehood with former governor Pedro Rosselló and George Laws, the Interim Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration. Independent research has confirmed what most people suspected: that the U.S. federal government spent far more money and resources on Harvey and Irma, the hurricanes that hit the mainland, than on Maria. In addition to the issues of fairness and equity, there is also a compelling economic argument to make Puerto Rico the 51st state.
Richard Levick welcomes Deborah Kelly and Nicole Lamb-Hale to the inaugural episode of Real Washington to talk #MeToo.
