"No More Mr. Nice Guy" - with Dr. Robert Glover - Episode 239

"No More Mr. Nice Guy" - with Dr. Robert Glover - Episode 239

The need to be accepted, combined with the fear of abandonment and rejection can lead us into becoming what other people want us to be while hiding who we truly are. This can drive us to deceit, manipulation, lies, and betrayal. In this episode I have invited Dr. Robert Glover to discuss his book, “No More Mr. Nice Guy”. Join us as we discuss the need for emotional honesty and authenticity in order to build healthy connections. Dr. Glover also covers the impact of fathers and generational patterns, the need for masculine initiation, and the transition from ‘Nice Guy’ to authenticity.

The Lure of the Victim Mindset

The Lure of the Victim Mindset

This week we are re-visiting an episode that aired one year ago, but is an important topic that is continually relevant as we navigate the ups and downs of life.

Life is full of situations that are out of our control. Once we have recovered from the initial shock of what has happened, how do we proceed? Do we continue to live as if we are powerless? Or do we make choices that we can control to heal and move forward? We have to be accountable and conscious with how we respond to what happens to us. Today we discuss the victim mindset and how that is often a default response mechanism, but how it is so important to choose to take ownership of our lives.

The Importance of Men's Work - with Kurt Francom - Episode 236

The Importance of Men's Work - with Kurt Francom - Episode 236

One of the biggest casualties men experience, often when they are boys, is getting separated from their own hearts and living life on autopilot. Addictions, trauma, abandonment, and other challenges can create more separation and make it difficult for men to feel alive and energized. It can also make it difficult to connect to themselves, to God, and their most important relationships. We invited Kurt Francom, a board member of the non-profit men's organization, "Warrior Heart", to join us for a discussion on how men can find their hearts and re-energize their lives. This is a great discussion to listen to whether or not you're a man. We all have men in our lives who, as Kurt says, "Need permission to not need permission to reclaim their own hearts." We'd love to hear what you think of this interview!

And I said podcasts weren’t for me

I heard everyone talking about podcasts, and tried a few, but just couldn’t get into them… until these. Wow, Geoff and Jody are so easy to listen to, giving clear understanding on so many topics I never thought I’d find answers to regarding betrayal and porn/sex addiction. I found myself binge listening every time I got in my car and said to myself “ Yes! That’s exactly what’s going on.” Every episode shed more light not only my struggles but my husband’s too. We are grateful to have these resources and highly recommend them!

Take caution

If you are desperate for help, just know that there is better help out there than this guy. Speaking from personal experience. If anything, use the information in his free podcasts but having invested in his courses and done therapy with him, DO NOT spend a dime on his overpriced sessions or courses. There’s much better help out there for much more reasonable prices.

Best betrayal and recovery podcast

This couple has the best podcast for recovering couples… they offer tremendous wisdom, the stuff that really makes the difference. I have recommended this podcast to many many clients. I love the way Geoff and Jody illuminate the possibility of healing and the necessary insights along the way. The content they share is so worthwhile for anyone who has faced intimate betrayal. I love their approach and respect their expertise a great deal.
