Record Trade: Hard Fi & Ben Folds Five Records & Bands

    • Music

In which our heroes talk s*** about the debut, self titled album from Ben Folds Five, Hard-Fi's "Stars of CCTV" and the best opening tracks to records. This will come as no surprise to regular listeners but Rob is an absolutely massive fan of Ben Folds, so was really excited to hear his little brothers thoughts on his favourite artist, who is regularly heralded as the greatest songwriter of his generation. (Thats what Rob regularly states as fact anyway.)We have a great chat about those amazing opening tracks from some great albums and manage to whittle them down to a "Top 10 Side A, Track 1" playlist.  Apparently openers from live albums don't count but Nutshell from Alice in Chains Unplugged deserves a really special mention!Later we talk about a band that Rob had pigeonholed into "S*** Indie Disco" but whose first album, Stars of CCTV, Sam just adores.
