What really got to me about this podcast was the “Best/Worst of Candidate Experience” episode. I’m the Candidate Experience Specialist at my company, and while the examples of nightmare examples/best practices align with basic things I wouldn’t/would want happening with my candidates... where is the address of candidates who don’t feel safe to share their real names due to countless mispronunciations? Where is the address of micro aggressions in interviews? Where is the address of tokenization of Black, Brown (insert minoritized identity) new hires? Where is the address of the all-white interview panel? Where is the address of helping a transgender candidate feel safe (complete with correct use of they/their/theirs)?
There was absolutely no mention of accountability - how are we holding interview teams and recruiters to standards around anti-racism and social justice in Candidate Experience/Employee Experience?
I’m really disappointed that these topics (and SO many more) weren’t even remotely touched in the episode I list (or really any episode I listened to).
Do better. Please.
